Getting around Taipei

Taipei City is situated in the northern part of Taiwan island, and the northeastern tip of the Taipei Basin. It borders New Taipei City on all sides. Taipei has a subtropical monsoon climate, with scorchingly hot summers and mild winters. The city enjoys plentiful rainfall throughout the seasons, with typhoons in the summer and autumn. 
Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR)
THSR has made Taiwan’s public transport system more convenient, because it brings cities and towns closer. Today, passengers can even travel between Taipei and Kaohsiung in one day. Moving among the corridor’s stations at 300km per hour the fastest, THSR offers truly convenient rides.
Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation
The MRT’s many trains and its seamless bus transfer make up Taipei’s convenient transport system. You are cordially invited to take the MRT and enjoy the city’s beautiful views along the way.
Depending on the distance, a single journey ride starts from NT$20 to NT$65. The one-day pass which may be purchased at each station’s service counter is NT$150. On the date of validation you may take the MRT as many times as you like. Each pass may only be used by one person at a time, however. 
With an electronic managerial system, YouBike provides rental services throughout the city. The user may rent one bike in a place and return it in another. YouBike promotes an environment-friendly lifestyle and a green commute culture.
Yangmingshan Hiking Trail
Situated in the suburb of Taipei City, Yangmingshan National Park consists of several mountains. It offers a number of scenic spots, hiking trails and footpaths such as Cingtiangang Trail and Xiaoyoukeng Trail. Flower landscape changes according to the season.
Jhuzihhu Trail
Covered with blooming calla lilies, Jhuzihu is one of the most renowned attractions in Yangmingshan. During the flower season, tourists can pick up lilies they want to buy in the garden by themselves. If you are interested in  the old waterwheel and eco pond, Calla Lily Trail at the lower lake area is suggested.
